Do you know a child who loves the outdoors? Get them outside this summer at STEAM Outside Camp at Tree Pittsburgh!

STEAM Outside Camp will engage your 4th, 5th, or 6th grader in the urban forest, fields, and rivers through a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) lens. Camp takes full advantage of Tree Pittsburgh’s 5-acre riverfront campus with interactive activities focused on the benefits of trees, nature in an urban environment, exploration of riparian forests and river habitats, and the life of a tree from seed to sapling at our Heritage Nursery.

Each day of STEAM Outside Camp will have a different theme, allowing campers to learn about the insects, birds and mammals that trees support, how trees keep our rivers clean, trees and climate change, and more. Through journaling, art, science projects, nature walks, tree planting, and paddle-boarding on the Allegheny River, campers will explore the urban forest while flexing their STEAM muscles in an outdoor setting. Participants will also have the chance to meet Tree Pittsburgh’s staff arborists and discover how they can make a difference in the urban forest.

Camp is designed for students entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grade in Fall 2023. Campers should bring their own lunch. Campers may be dropped off at 8:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 3:30 p.m.

If you have more questions or would like to apply for a camp scholarship, please contact Maeve Rafferty at maeve@treepittsburgh.org.

Please note: your registration is not final until you complete an additional form with more information about your camper. This form will be in your confirmation email.
