However, we will have additional trees for the Quaker Valley COG municipalities' residents to adopt at the end of the event if they are not picked up by those who registered for them. We encourage you to stop by at the end of the event (2:00 pm) to see!

Also, there are additional spring 2025 Tree Adoption events posted on Tree Pittsburgh's website that you can participate in (click here).

About the Event

Your reservation confirmation will come from Give Lively (hello@givelively.org) and may go to your inbox or spam/junk folder. It contains important pickup details specific to your event! If you do not receive the confirmation email within 24 hours of placing your reservation, your reservation did not process correctly.

This Tree Adoption event is brought to you by the Quaker Valley Council of Governments and its member municipalities! You must be a resident of a Quaker Valley COG (QVCOG) municipality to reserve a tree. Click here to view a map of the member municipalities (note that Ben Avon Heights is a member), or click here to view a list.

This Tree Adoption event is limited to one (1) tree per QVCOG household address. If you reserve more than one (1) total tree per QVCOG household address, we will select only one (1) tree from your order and release the rest to be adopted by someone else. If you do not register with a QVCOG municipal address, your entire order will be canceled.

Click here to see the image/description of each tree we're distributing at this event, including the mature height/spread, sun/shade requirements, preferred soil types, and more.

We may have additional trees available to adopt at the end of the event. Feel free to come back at the end of the event to see! If you are unable to attend the event date and time, please send someone in your place or reach out to Tree Pittsburgh to cancel your order. We cannot make arrangements for additional pickup times.

Tree Details

Click here to learn about how to choose the right tree for the safest place on your private property, as well as how to plant and care for your tree.

This season, trees will be distributed in various container sizes. No matter the container size, all of the trees will be about two (2) years old and will be small enough to fit into any regular sized vehicle!

These containerized trees must be planted in the ground (not planted in a pot, and not kept in their container). They cannot be planted between the sidewalk and the street. They must be planted on private property where you have permission to plant, which can include a home (owned by you, or rented/leased with property owner permission) or a property like a school, community garden, or church (with property owner permission).
