Summer Young Naturalist Classes!

Classes are held weekly on Wednesdays from 10am-noon June 3rd-August 26. Please note that many of the classes may be too challenging for kids under the 6-12 age range. We focus on a different theme each month, but we learn something new together each week:

June: Animal and plant ID hikes

July: Kayaking, fishing and other outdoor sports/skills

August: Nature Crafts

Helpful tips about this class:

• Always come dressed for the weather, bring a reusable water bottle and a snack in case you get hungry! Consider packing a lunch and picnicing at the beach after class.
• Classes may be canceled or shuffled around if there is bad weather. We’ll contact you at least 2 hours before via the contact information you registered with.
• We’ll always meet at the Willow River State Park Nature Center unless notified otherwise.
• Vehicle admission into the park is a separate and required fee.
• Per DNR policy; there must always be at least one parent or guardian with any child(ren) enrolled in the class.
• There are no refunds available for missed or canceled classes. All collections made from this class are donated directly to maintaining, conserving and protecting Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks. Thank you for your support!
