Walk For the Love of Germantown is a new fundraising initiative for Germantown United CDC about interesting people and places in our neighborhood. 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

• Order your copy of Walk For the Love of Germantown Vol. 1 – a limited edition booklet featuring self-guided walks created by Germantown residents and small business owners. Complete at your own pace! (Available for pick-up/delivery starting Sep 17.)
  
• Attend one of two in-person Walking Tours led by the walk creators (Sat, Sep 17 starting at 10AM and 2PM)
  
• Meet your neighbors at The Germantown Jam – a backyard concert featuring musicians living in Germantown (Sat, Sep 17, 4PM-6PM)
  
• Make a day of it, and do all of the above!

All purchases are donations to Germantown United CDC and tax-deductible (not including processing fees). In-person events will be held on Saturday, Sep 17, 2022. Various locations and times. Children under the age of 10 are FREE. Limit (2) children per ticketed adult.

THE BIRD'S EYE RAMBLE

A zig zag walkabout highlighting history, art, nature, and beyond from Grumblethorpe to Hansberry Garden & Nature Center. Your walk guide is Germantown resident EMILY BIRDIE BUSCH. By day (and night), Birdie is an artist and works in sound/vision/words to tell both her story and the stories of others. About your guide: emilybirdiebusch.com

GUIDED WALKING TOUR

ARCHITECTURE IN GERMANTOWN

Have you been curious about Germantown’s hidden architectural gems? The neighborhood is home to numerous sites on the National Register of Historic Places, the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation. Join us for this experiential walk to learn more about architecture in Germantown. Your walk guides are Germantown residents CARLOS MATTEI-RAMOS and DENNIS MEDINA. This walk will end at the location for The Germantown Jam concert, starting at 4pm. If you plan to attend, please purchase a Guided Walk & Concert ticket which includes admission to both.

CONCERT
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM (doors open 3:30 PM)
THE GERMANTOWN JAM

Join your neighbors for an intimate outdoor concert featuring musicians living and making music in Germantown. Enjoy performances by THE ALEX LEVIN TRIO, KAREN SMITH & FRIENDS, and THE JULIAN HARTWELL BAND, with surprise special guests. Additional artists to be announced. The event will be held at the HOME OF LUKE & RAMA SMITH. Luke is a longtime member of GU’s Board of Directors. This is a cashless event. Please purchase drink and raffle tickets in advance during check-out.
