Girl Rising is an international nonprofit renowned for its award-winning documentary of the same name and for using the power of storytelling to change the way the world values girls and their education. Through our global programs, we are working to break the barriers to girls’ education—this year reaching 11 million adolescents in five countries.

Over a decade ago, Girl Rising launched after witnessing the power of the stories of nine ordinary, extraordinary girls in the original Girl Rising film, which sparked a global girls’ education movement. Today, storytelling remains at the heart of our education programs and Future Rising—Girl Rising’s Fellowship Program for young climate advocates.
