Sister to Sister San Mateo County Youth Leadership Conference 

Celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Women of Tomorrow 

Since 1995, Asian American Recovery Services (AARS) has provided a unique experience to empower middle and high school girls and celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) culture. On April 18, 2024, AARS will host our 2nd Annual Sister to Sister Youth Leadership Conference in San Mateo County.

This year’s theme is “Ride the Waves.” Paying homage to the four waves of feminism, W.A.V.E.S stands for Women Amplifying Voices to Empower our Sisters. Many young women in the AANHPI community struggle to find their voice so we want to create a movement and sisterhood that affirms them to amplify their voices, take up space, and remain actively engaged and resilient. Waves also honors our Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community who are rooted in the Ocean that connects neighboring islands.
