Clay Fortune Cookie Workshop in Celebration of AAPI Month

Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with a creative, hands-on evening at the Hoboken Historical Museum! Join Atacama Clay Studio for a guided workshop where participants will craft their own ceramic clay fortune cookies, inspired by traditional forms and contemporary ceramic art.

In this relaxed and welcoming session, guests will learn basic hand-building techniques while shaping their own fortune cookie sculptures using 1.5 lbs of clay per person. After forming your pieces, you’ll select from 3–4 glaze options (or a classic clear glaze), and Atacama Clay Studio will take the work back to their studio for professional glazing and kiln firing. Finished pieces will be returned to the Museum for pickup at a later date.

What to Expect

 Hands-on clay workshop led by Atacama Clay Studio
 Create your own ceramic fortune cookies (two) using 1.5 lbs of clay
 Choose from multiple glaze options (glazing and firing included)
 BYOB with light refreshments provided
 A creative evening inside the Hoboken Historical Museum

This workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike—no prior clay experience is needed. Come solo or bring friends and enjoy a fun, artistic way to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month through creativity and community.

Space is limited to 28 participants, and advance registration is required.

Finished ceramic fortune cookies will be available for pickup at the Museum once firing is complete.
