Some yards just feel right — inviting, natural, and full of personality. Others… not so much.

If you've ever struggled to make your yard reflect you, this workshop will help. Yardenalities: A Design Shortcut for a Backyard Makeover is all about recognizing your personal style and learning how to apply it in a way that feels cohesive, exciting, and alive.

In this fun, interactive workshop, you’ll explore your style, respond to quick polls, and spot key details that make designs work. Heather Evans (Design Your Wild) and Zoe Evans (Wildr / Plan it Wild) will share how hardscape and native plant choices express each of six Yardenalities™ — contemporary garden design styles rooted in major landscape traditions. You'll discover which style resonates with you and learn how to apply it to create a yard that feels cohesive, exciting, and alive. By the end, you’ll have a clear direction — and the confidence to bring it to life.

These design principles work wherever you garden, so this workshop is relevant to anyone in the United States and Canada.

You'll learn:

  • Why identifying your style makes design decisions easier

  • Key visual cues that make certain gardens "work"

  • How to match your Yardenality to your home, lifestyle, and landscape

  • Tips for applying your style in your own yard

Polls, quick prompts, and real-time examples will keep you engaged and reinforce your learning. By the end, you'll know your Yardenality — and have the confidence to bring it to life.
