WHO IS CHILD
CHILD is a company of 15 dancers, actors, musicians, clowns, choreographers, composers, video artists, writers, and designers who make large scale interdisciplinary performances at the collision point between theater, dance, music and experimental performance. They are: Lisa Fagan, Catherine Brookman, Lena Engelstein, Shannon Yu, Nathan Repasz, Maya Simone, Suz Murray Sadler, Kirsten Harvey, Angel Acuña, Emma Orme, Hannah Mitchell, Eriq Robinson, Miles Toth, Ampersand Paris, and Matthew Antoci.
CHILD works collaboratively, meaning the work that becomes a CHILD show cannot possibly spring forth from one or two people's brains. It's biologically a result of 15 people thinking and making stuff in tandem, gulping from the same conceptual feeding trough, and then smashing our heads together and making a show.
WHAT IS THIS SHOW AND WHY IS IT CALLED THAT
1-800-3592-113592 is a gooey, retail dynasty fantasia about a family jewelry store in New Jersey called “DiFrederico’s” that turns into powder and is overtaken by zebras. Performed by 15 (including a full band), this hair-brained, interdisciplinary spectacle positions business as the nucleus of family life and Life as an Experience Center, searing the DiFrederico’s jingle and its too-long phone number into your memory. 1-800 is not a play, nor is it a dance. Just come down to the Jewelry Depot, it’s DiFrederico’s. 1-800-359-2183592, yeah.
