Over the past two years, ICI has helped bring the curatorial community together to confront the challenges of our times and begin the process of cultural rebuilding. To celebrate our achievements and support our continued efforts, we’re bringing supporters, curators, and artists together for ICI’s Annual Fall Benefit and Auction on October 25, 2022. As we seek to honor our incredible networks that span time zones and geography, this year’s benefit brings together the best of both worlds: We’ll gather in New York for an in-person cocktail reception and auction viewing, AND we will come to you with the continuation of our successful Benefit in a Box!

Available at various levels of giving in limited quantities, each Box will include commissioned multiples by artists who reflect the multiplicity of voices that make up ICI’s global network, plus not-to-be-missed surprises. All box purchases also include an invitation to our in-person event.

• Connects people in unique and meaningful ways. 

We connect curators and artists to one another, and to ideas from around the world, so that we may collectively respond to the urgent challenges of our time. We acknowledge and address a sense of isolation that is deeply felt among arts practitioners at all levels of their careers. Because ICI is global in scope and personal in scale, we provide meaningful connections and a support system for art communities that is adapted to diverse practices and voices. Our online public programs have brought perspectives from curators and artists based in cities throughout the world to audiences in nearly 70 countries. The traveling exhibitions we produce with our collaborators champion underrepresented artists and perspectives, and in 2022, we are incredibly proud that three new exhibitions are being developed by alumni of the Curatorial Intensive, further advancing their careers and reach. 

• Advances curatorial practice and curators’ careers.

We see curators as leaders who champion artistic practice, build essential infrastructures and institutions, and generate public engagement with art. In supporting their work, we support stronger art communities. ICI’s Curatorial Research Fellowships provide mentorship opportunities for emerging and mid-career curators to develop new knowledge, while seminars such as the Curatorial Forum and Curatorial Assembly bring peers together to imagine new ways of working, researching, and producing.

• Build stronger art communities.

ICI builds platforms for arts communities that are adapted to diverse practices and voices.
