For 25 years the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function, through research and clinical practice, has been demonstrating how and why music can benefit people with mental health and neurological challenges. But we can do more:
Imagine if music therapy programs for at risk children could help support mental health and build resilient minds. Imagine if music were provided, instead of numbing medications, to ease the restlessness of someone with dementia.

The Music has Power ® Gala, the IMNF's event, has been on a three-year hiatus due to the Covid 19 pandemic. All of us have emerged from the pandemic with a deep appreciation for the role of music in addressing the human needs laid bare in this crisis – especially the need for connection and community.
With both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) now advocating for greater use of the arts, especially music, in health and wellness, we believe the IMNF is in a key position to move music therapy best practices into the mainstream of wellness and healthcare.
In the coming year we will be partnering with agencies across the nation to promote greater access to music-based interventions in senior health and wellness, as well as mental health programs for local school-age children. But we need your support to carry this forward.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of this request, and for your ongoing support of our efforts.
