The Institute for Public Architecture marks the culmination of the 2025 Fall Independent Project Residency with its final Open [Block] House exhibition and program, ‘LIVING LABORATORY’, at the historic IPA Block House on November 8th. Join us for a full house activation and a series of short artist talks.

*recommended ferry departure from Manhattan at 3:45pm - the last public ferry to Governors Island is at 4:15pm. Purchase ferry tickets at the terminal or online here.

Registration is free and required for this event. 

*You must purchase a ticket for the Governors Island ferry, departing from Battery Maritime Building. Ferry tickets may be purchased in-person via the ticketing machines until 4:15pm. Guests arriving after 4:15pm should purchase a 4:15pm ticket online here in advance; please check-in with Security personnel at the front desk upon arrival at the Battery Maritime Building and show them your registration confirmation. Departure ferries back to Manhattan run every 30 minutes, the public may remain on the Island until 8pm. See ferry schedule and information here.
