The Institute for Public Architecture marks the culmination of the 2026 Summer Independent Project Residency with a full house activation on August 8th featuring work by Amelyn Ng, Sara Dean, Finn Brunton, Ann Dinh, Martin Rodriguez Jr, Susana Chinchilla, Jahlik Parkes, and Amanda Ramos (2026 Visiting Fellow). 4-7pm, drinks and bbq from 7-9pm

Welcome remarks by Deborah Garcia, IPA Residency Director begin promptly at 4pm.

We recommend arriving via the Battery Maritime Building in Manhattan to Governors Island to catch the ferry at 3:15pm or 3:45pm to catch the afternoon talks. You can purchase ferry tickets at the terminal or online here. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early. From the ferry landing, the walk to the Block House takes around 10 minutes. 

Departure ferries back to Manhattan run every 30 minutes, guests may remain on the Island until 11pm. See ferry schedule and information here.
