These times are calling upon us to be responsive, adaptive, and resilient! As we are all hunkering down in our homes and limiting our physical contact with each other, many of us are seeking other ways to connect.
Let's join together in the JOY OF HULA to draw upon the wellspring of inspiration offered by this sacred and beautiful Hawaiian cultural practice. This online workshop will bring us together in a time when we need to find refuge, strength, consistency, and well-being through our shared practice.
During our group hula class by live video Kumu Andrea will be sharing a hula kahiko appropriate for all levels, including beginners. The hula takes us to the district of North Kohala, where the apa'apa'a wind blows, to honor the great chief, Kamehameha Nui.
Using Zoom as our ability to connect, Kumu Andrea will be able to see you, you can watch, follow and learn from her, and even see each other. We will be in community together... virtually!
A link to join the class with Zoom will be sent to you after you register for the workshop, along with instructions for using Zoom and lyrics to the mele (song). A recording of the class will be made available after the workshop takes place.
Kumu Andrea will also offer a 1-hour "pop-up" review and practice session by Zoom for anyone who attends the workshop (date & time TBD).
Advance registration required. Registration closes at 4 pm Pacific Time on Saturday.
