Join LCBH, Loyola University's Center for Urban Research and Learning (CURL) and our community supporters as we unveil an update to our data portal, which uses statistical modeling of the historical relationship between unemployment and eviction filings to predict and estimate eviction filings in Chicago. This report will include eviction data from 2018 and 2019 and will address current concerns about a potential wave of eviction filings due to COVID-19.

LCBH will share key findings and policy recommendations supported by the data, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session. Panelists include:

  • Moderator: Mark Swartz, Executive Director, Lawyers Committee for Beter Housing
  • Michelle Gilbert, Legal Director, Lawyers' Committee for Better Housing
  • Peter Rosenblatt, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Sociology at Loyola University Chicago
  • Impacted Client speaker
