**Note: Thank you for the overwhelming response!**

Unfortunately, to maintain the quality of the course and to better serve our participants, we have closed the workshop to new registrations.

New Registrations
New participants must catch up with the course load by completing the first week’s pre-learning and daily homework. Not quite the same as watching Tiger King but you may need to binge-watch these videos and recordings to catch-up!

This is a three-week-long Reading Workshop, valued at $2,000, for free. The workshop will be facilitated by Steve Tattum, and it will provide the same high standards to teaching reading as our in-person workshops. Some of the topics included are:

  • Intensive Systematic Phonics Development

  • Oral Reading and Fluency

  • Reading Comprehension

  • Writing and Spelling

  • Program Material Usage in Different Settings

Workshop Dates

May 11th -  May 27th (deadline for enrollment extended to May 15th)

FREE, including all instruction manuals, lesson plans, access to a set of digital chapter books, links to digital resources to support the program. (Originally valued at $2,000)

Work Structure

This is a "Flipped Classroom" style workshop - The sequence of the workshop is:  Pre-learn -> In-person practice -> Homework -> Repeat.

You will be provided with videos and pre-learning activities before each in-person session which will help you absorb the lessons and master the skills.

In addition to keeping up with the program, each week, the participants will be required to fill out a survey to help us follow their progress and use the feedback to improve the program.

Certificate of Completion

All participants who complete the workshop (attendance, completing assignments, etc.) will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance. Participants can also receive a Certification of Completion in our reading program which requires a personal meeting with Steve Tattum or one of our senior staff to demonstrate mastery of the program. We are offering this certification at a reduced price of $300 (usually $500).

Note: Workshop alumni interested in tutoring for LearnUp can contact our staff to learn more about becoming a LearnUp tutor.

Time Commitment

Teaching to read is a worldwide challenge! Though we are super excited to have attendees registering from all over the world like Australia and India, it gets in the way of finding the perfect time for everyone to meet in-person. However, we strongly believe that attending these live sessions will help master the program! Attend if you can, if not the videos are there for you to practice and watch on your own time. Reach out to us, we may have peers of yours in your time zone who you can create a study group with.

Also, we are always in conversation about the best way to handle the needs of our trainees and students, and the reality that many have on-going obligations that conflict with the program. We are always open to thoughts and suggestions from you, so please reach out to us at to submit them.

LearnUp Centers Reading Workshop FAQS

What is the LearnUp Reading Program?

We have partnered with Steve Tattum to deliver our evidence-based reading program blends the best practices of the leading reading and reading intervention programs on the market (based on Orton-Gillingham based with concepts from Linda Mood-Bell, Slingerland, Reading Recovery, Alphabetic Phonics, and Whole Language, etc.) and combines them with the latest brain research and National Reading Panel recommendations to create a superior, systematic program that accelerates reading acquisition. No one can predict what level of students a teacher might see next week so we want to make sure that they have the full program at their fingertips!

The workshop covers all the basics of reading--from the theory of reading and comprehension and the role of the brain’s neurodiversity in reading acquisition to the nuts and bolts of teaching reading. You will learn how to efficiently and effectively teach reading to all types of learners.
