National, state and local elections this year are off the ground and it's important to think about how to offer support and political education to local Latino leaders. Audé Negrete, Executive Director of the Kansas Latino Community Network, and expert Latino community voter registration mobilizer will share about their work in Kansas and provide strategies for non-partisan civic movement building. The goal of this webinar is to learn about the importance of Latino voter registration, access to data-resources, and how to build a framework for voter registration and political education this year.

About Audé Negrete:

Audé Negrete Banos is a passionate advocate for social justice focusing on children’s, Women’s, and Immigrant’s rights.  For over two decades her advocacy has taken her around the United States and Mexico.  Audé credits her mother and father for instilling in her a great deal of compassion and empathy for those less fortunate and a value system that teaches that we only win when our community wins.  

Audé currently is the Executive Director of the KS Latino Community Network. Before her current position she was a community engagement consultant for the Kansas Department of Health and Environmental and the the Executive Director of the Kansas Hispanic and Latino American Affairs Commission.

In her advocacy work Audé had helped pass the Maryland Dream Act, organized community leaders to testify in favor of Kansas’s In-State Tuition, empowered tenants to fight for their housing rights, directed presidential campaign activated in Kansas, assisted detained asylum seekers prepare their court cases, founded a Young Democrats group, and advised several groups on how to bridge the gap between their organization and the community they serve.

 Audé holds degrees in Spanish, Political Science, and International Studies from the University of Kansas.
