On Tuesday, November 29th, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm, Life Pieces To Masterpieces will screen My Brother's Journey, have a short youth performance, and host a panel discussion with the filmmakers and young people involved in the film. The event will be in association with Lights On Afterschool, the nationwide celebration of the many great out-of-school time programs throughout the country, as well as Giving Tuesday, the biggest philanthropic celebration of the year.

My Brother’s Journey is a true coming of age story, produced by MigKeb Productions in association with Life Pieces To Masterpieces, following the lives of Black boys growing into young men here in the District of Columbia. The film explores what the opportunities of Black boys are when they can be who they are, without being weighed down by society’s false narratives of what a Black boy can or cannot be. The story showcases the brilliance and creativity inherent in boys and young men who are too often seen as problems instead of as the problem-solvers they are – problem-solvers on a mission to help the world recognize our shared humanity.

Life Pieces To Masterpieces is a comprehensive youth development and mentoring organization that develops character and leadership, unlocks potential, and prepares Black boys and young men to transform their lives and communities through the power of creative expression. Our vision is that LPTM youth become catalysts for positive change in the world, and in My Brother's Journey, we see three LPTM young men from three generations who are doing exactly that.
