Step into history and shape the future with your generous support of the Historic Magnolia House restoration project near Downtown Greensboro, one of the original 300-plus Green Book site listings for African American travelers, between 1955 and 1961.
Join us Saturday, May 15, for a drop-in, walk-through event from 11-4. At the event, we'll be sharing an exclusive preview of our exciting vision for the home’s common areas and its original four bedrooms, as conceived by local design firm Vivid Interiors.
Magnolia House offered a safe haven to Black performers, star athletes and intellectuals of the time, including Louis Armstrong, Satchel Paige, Ike and Tina Turner, and James Baldwin. Guests will see the Historic Magnolia House come to life at the event!
With our mission to return the Historic Magnolia House to its former function as an inn for overnight guests, as well to utilize the space as a community and education hub, the two day event’s $100,000 fundraising goal covers the costs of repairs, restorations, and furnishings needed to launch the replicated 1949 Green Book Hotel this year.
Join us for a casual day of entertainment, become a part of history, and witness an exclusive premier of both the past and future...The Magnolia House Boutique Hotel!
