ABOUT THE HOUSE:

The Historic Magnolia House in Greensboro, NC and a cultural catalyst in the business of saving our black sanctuaries and giving them a voice to tell their own stories. We are the NC Green Book hotel where African American's stayed during Jim Crow:

• Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and identified as a "Distinctive Destination" with the National Trust for Historic Places
• Starred in 6 editions of The Green Book as the highly recommended place to stay for Negro travelers in NC.
• Of the 320+ NC Green Book Sites, we are 1 of maybe 6 NC sites still in existence and functioning as it was during its Green Book Heyday.
  

We are the home of Carter G. Woodson, Ray Charles, James Brown, James Baldwin, Jackie Robinson, Louis Armstrong, Ruth Brown, Ike & Tina and many more artist, musicians, and speakers in the 50s and 60s
