This event raises critical funding for Senior Nutritional Services, as well as the Meals on Wheels of Mercer County Pet Pantry – keeping our homebound seniors and their pets healthy, happy & together.

Event day activities include:

Why We Walk

Homebound seniors and their pets are especially vulnerable. Imagine you are isolated at home and the only other living thing in your home is your pet.

We know the tremendous value a pet can bring to our lives. You would do anything to keep that “furry family member” alive. We found that, for our participants, this often meant feeding their pets  their own meal before feeding themselves.

Sharing the only food they have is not good for the elder or their pet. This event helps fund our efforts to continue providing free pet food twice a month to our meal participants so neither go hungry.   

We kindly ask that each guest consider donating to our Pet Food Collection taking place at the Walk - canned food preferred. Last year, 240 pounds of pet food was donated at the Walk for our Pet Pantry!
