Pass the Torch for Women Foundation is doing something different. The inaugural “Pass the Mic” is not just another event in the city, it is an experience that will bring together the community to hear from incredible female entrepreneurs. This year's theme is culinary arts and entertainment. 

Why "Pass the Mic"? 
The purpose of this first-of-its-kind event is to bring people together in a new, exciting way. The motif of passing the mic comes from the Foundation's commitment to serve as a curator of opportunities for the celebration of representation from all backgrounds and to give the stage to those whose story should be heard by all. The inspiring and fun evening will be spent in intentional community building, empowerment, and investing in ourselves and others in our own backyard. Plus, great food and entertainment! The Foundation is excited to position itself in being different in what matters and this event is a kickoff to a future of elevating our mission. 

The evening will spotlight a culinary tour with bites from the city’s favorite women-owned restaurants. Throughout the event, guests will marvel at the creation of international artist Ashley Nora’s live painting that will be auctioned at the end of the night. 

Attendees will gain perspective and be inspired after listening to keynote speaker, author and Masterchef finalist, Tanorria Askew. A Meet and Greet will kick off the event to include signed copies of Tanorria’s cookbook, along with a glass of champagne to toast an evening of empowering women.   

Make sure to wear your dancing shoes! The rest of the evening will be spent rocking out with DJ Gabby Love, who will pass the mic throughout the night to showcase the stories of the movers and shakers in the room. A special performance by a powerhouse local girl group will leave attendees inspired by the future community builders of Indianapolis.
