The Mesa Verde Foundation invites you to a special half‑day symposium celebrating the 120th anniversary of Mesa Verde National Park. The event will explore the park’s history, cultural significance, wilderness values and preservation through engaging presentations and conversations with experts, bringing Mesa Verde’s stories and ongoing initiatives directly to Denver.
Symposium Presenters

• Christie Wildcat – Assistant Curator of Native American & Indigenous History, History Colorado

• Donna Glowacki – Associate Professor, Anthropology, University of Notre Dame; associate researcher of Mesa Verde National Park

• Christopher Barns – Nationally recognized expert on wilderness policy and public lands stewardship; author; documentary writer and director; Mesa Vede volunteer

• Troy A. Eid – Partner, Greenberg Traurig; Former U.S. Attorney for Colorado; national leader in Tribal sovereignty and cultural resource protection

Symposium participants will also have the rare opportunity to view select artifacts from History Colorado’s world-class Mesa Verde Collection that are not typically on display.
