We are excited to announce the date of the Midwest Innocence Project’s 2022 Faces of Innocence fundraising event. It is on this special night that critical funds needed to bring innocent clients home are raised. This year’s event will be held in person and online, Thursday, April 28, 2022. Last year, generous supporters of the Midwest Innocence Project raised over $230,000 to support the mission, funding that was critical in securing the freedom for MIP clients Kevin Strickland, Anthony Dixon, and Rontarus Washington.
Inspired by last year’s success, we have raised the bar even higher and set the goal at $250,000. You can help us reach that goal and achieve justice for more innocent clients by sponsoring the 2022 event. Enclosed in this packet is an outline of the sponsorship levels. Funds from these sponsorships directly support our work to screen, investigate, and litigate cases for our clients. Currently, there are 584 individuals still waiting for assistance. MIP staff, partners, and volunteers are reviewing and investigating on behalf of an additional 64 individuals and MIP is actively litigating for the release of 19 clients. Your support provides critical DNA tests, forensic analysis, and hours of investigation.
In real time, we are seeing the power of a community coming together to say we get to decide how the future is going to look. You have made our successes possible and we hope that you will continue to support our mission and join us on this special evening. For additional information, please visit our website at www.themip.org or contact Tish Sjuts at tsjuts@themip.org. Together, we get to reimagine the systems in which our society operates.
