Montgomery County Suicide Prevention Walk 2026

Join us for this year's Suicide Prevention Walk as our community comes together to raise awareness, remember loved ones, and promote hope, healing, and connection. Whether you're walking in memory of someone, supporting a loved one, or simply standing with the cause, your presence makes a difference.
Location: Milligan Park
Cost: Free to attend
Event Schedule:
🕣 8:30 AM – Check-in opens
🚶 9:00 AM – Walk begins
🏁 10:15 AM – Walk closes
Participants are invited to walk for approximately one hour around the park at their own pace. Whether you choose to complete the full route or simply enjoy a short walk, every step helps show support for suicide prevention and mental wellness.
A memorial banner will be available throughout the event. We encourage participants to bring photos of loved ones to leave on the banner before, during, or after their walk as a way to honor and remember them. The completed banner will be displayed outside the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau throughout the month of October in remembrance of those we've lost to suicide. Please note that any photos or other memorial items left on the banner will not be returned.
The first 200 attendees will receive a free event t-shirt, while supplies last.
This event is hosted by the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau with the generous support of Acuity Indiana Production Facility, Banjo Corporation and Volunteers for Mental Health in Montgomery County.
Together, we can create a community where hope is stronger than stigma, conversations save lives, and everyone knows they are valued.

This registration is for teams, groups, friends, or families walking together! The name on this registration will be your team captain and will be utilized as our point of contact. Please include the number of walkers in your crew for an accurate headcount during registration.

I attest that I will participate in this event as a walk, that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the completion of this event. Furthermore, I hereby grant full permission to use my name and likeness, as well as any photographs and any record of this event in which I may appear for any legitimate purpose, including advertising and promotion.
