Mountainfilm on Tour visits Asheville on November 19 at New Belgium Brewing Company. Join us for an evening of inspiring and captivating films handpicked from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado.

Founded in 1979, Mountainfilm is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. The annual festival is held every Memorial Day weekend in Telluride, CO. Mountainfilm is a dynamic nonprofit organization and festival that celebrates stories of indomitable spirit and aims to inspire audiences through film, art and ideas.

Mountainfilm on Tour in Asheville will feature a collection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and engaging documentary short films that align with Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. Doors open for the event at 6pm and the show will kick off at 7pm.

For 15 years, Muddy Sneakers has been supporting 5th grade public school students’ and teachers’ science education initiatives through outdoor experiential learning. 

Year-long program partners throughout North Carolina benefit from our unique model, which prioritizes child-centered, data-supported, repeated experiences for fifth-grade students to build deep connections to the landscape that cannot be realized with single, ‘one-time’ events. Our programs bring substantive outdoor science education to children at a critical developmental stage when they’re deciding whether to explore an interest in the outdoors or focus on the multitude of electronic distractions pulling childhood inside.

Muddy Sneakers fundraises 75% of program fees in an effort to ensure the program is accessible to schools throughout the state while also ensuring schools' commitment via their 25% investment.
