STARR is NCCJ's program about race and racism. 

STARR stands for "Students Talking About Race and Racism." You guessed it: the program is solely focused on race and racism, their history, and past and current manifestations in the context of the United States. 

We will be talking about topics like privilege, cultural appropriation, activism, and leadership. We’ll also be visiting the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro to learn about the Civil Rights Movement in our Triad community. You’ll also have a chance to connect with other program participants through small groups and conversation. 

Location

STARR is a partly virtual, partly in-person program. (For the in-person days, we will be practicing physical distancing, wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, and following other guidelines and best practices to ensure everyone's safety and well-being.)
