QPR is a nationally recognized suicide prevention program.
QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer, a life-saving strategy outlining 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.
Similar to how those trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis. These "gatekeepers" learn how to question, persuade and refer someone to get the appropriate help they need. Each year thousands of caring people, like yourself, say "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor by becoming Certified QPR Gatekeepers.
Gatekeepers can be anyone, but include parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, ministers, doctors, nurses, supervisors, squad leaders, foremen, police officers, caseworkers, and firefighters, among many others who are strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide.
As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to:
Recognize the warning signs of suicide
Know how to offer hope
Know how to get help and save a life
Since this is a virtual presentation, participants will be provided a link and code to access the accompanying QPR booklet and class resources.
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate as a Certified QPR Gatekeeper.
This training is for individuals ages 18+
