Rachel Handman and Keve Wilson return to the Hudson Valley for an evening of Cabaret Quintet. They bring joy and optimism to their shows with tales of their lifelong friendship alongside music and original arrangements that always surprises the audience whether it's Joropos from Venezuela or Bluegrass from Appalachia.
From Hyde Park, New York, Rachel and Keve grew up dreaming of performing on Broadway. Spending every Saturday studying at Manhattan School of Music, they would skip music theory and practice Irish jigs and reels instead. Combined, they’ve performed everywhere from Bolivia to New Zealand, and have gone on to realize that Broadway dream as they've played in over 20 Broadway shows combined.
Their quintet of oboe, violin, guitar, bass and drums performs regularly in NYC venues such as 54 Below and Chelsea Table and Stage. They are on the roster of Sing for Hope, the "Peace Corps" of musical America, performing for the public in intimate settings such as hospitals and nursing homes as well as public spaces to cultivate community through the arts.
Their debut album The Catskill Sessions is available for streaming on all platforms and distributed by NAXOS.
“Broadway is very lucky to have these two magnificent players in their midst-both are virtuoso players. Rachel and Keve got a very well-deserved standing ovation. The next time I’m at a Broadway show, I will not take the orchestra for granted.”-Broadway World Review
