You can see salmon all over the PNW, from Seattle’s Pike Place Market to local artwork and murals, but unless you know where and when to look you may never see them out in the wild! So…where are they?
In this lunch & learn session, we will showcase some publicly available online resources, including data from NSEA’s Salmon Spotters community science project, that you can use to better understand where and when you can see salmon in Whatcom County. We will also cover the basics of how to identify the different species of Pacific salmon, a brief overview of the different watersheds near us, and how you can support the recovery of wild salmon for future generations.
Pack your lunch and join us on Friday, September 18th in person at NSEA’s campus or online via Zoom. This workshop will last from 12 – 1 PM, and staff will be available until 1:30 PM for additional discussion and Q&A. Coffee, tea, and water provided.
Registration is required.
