Friday, December 1st, features another double-header presentation of New Works by Robert Lyons and Daniel Irizarry (One-Eighth Theater & Soho Think Tank) and by Paul Pinto and Kristin Marting (HERE Arts).
Ultra Left Violence is described by its creators as “an anti-capitalist dialogue/lecture/manifesto run amuck. With live music.” Ultra Left Violence reunites critically acclaimed collaborators Robert Lyons (playwright) and Daniel Irizarry (director/performer).
15 Photos draws on traditions of the medieval bard. It is a virtuosic song cycle for solo performer Paul Pinto, who, through chants, songs, dance, and gesture, needles the ancient epic in service of his own reflections on modern masculinity. Combining Arthurian legend with John McTiernan action movies, the Romans, Thai boxing, Beowulf, and stories about New Jersey, Paul bobs and weaves between long passages of puckishly quick verbiage and aching melancholia. The work is directed by HERE Arts Director Kristin Marting.
On Friday, December 1, please join us for a sharing of these two works-in-progress.
Please note our new winter start times: the presentation begins at 7:00pm.
