Overview

The Basics of Mental Health training teaches strategies for positive interactions with individuals with mental illness, addressing common diagnoses, causes, misconceptions, treatment options, and ways to counter stigma. The goal is to increase understanding, empathy, and skills for interacting constructively with those living with mental challenges. 

Objectives

  • Understand mental illness, including causes, symptoms, and recovery process.
  • Gain skills and knowledge to effectively help and support clients/patients with mental illness. 
  • Feel comfortable interacting with and assisting people with mental illness.
