March with the Milk Bank in the Portland Pride Parade on July 21st!

March with Northwest Mothers Milk Bank to revel in the richness of our community! Did you know that we serve outpatient families in the LGBTQUIA2S+ community all the time? And that our donors are part of the community too? They're all part of our mission to improve the health and survival of infants across the Pacific Northwest. Families come in all shapes and sizes, and we want to celebrate that!

LGBTQUIA2S+ folks make up a significant number of our staff, milk donors, milk recipients, and financial supporters. We are marching to spread the word about our services, honor the history of Pride, and celebrate our invaluable donors, recipients, and staff. Again—families, like breasts and chests, come in all shapes and sizes.

This event is free to join, but you can also donate to support the mission of NWMMB! Really, we just want to march with you—but if you like, you can make a donation at checkout to support your local community milk bank.

We will begin gathering at the North Park Blocks in Downtown Portland between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM (subject to change). Keep an eye out for our white van with "donatemilk.org" printed in rainbow letters on the side!

The parade begins promptly at 11:00 AM, but depending on our spot in the lineup, it could take an hour or two just to make it to the start of the parade route. Once on the route, the march will be about 1.2 miles long and last about 30 minutes. We'll know more from Pride Northwest soon, so keep an eye on your inbox after you RSVP!

THINGS TO KNOW

This will be a long, hot, hurry-up-and-wait kind of day! Once we're all gathered, we may have to wait several hours to even begin marching on the official route, which is about 1.2 miles long.

Babies, children, and families are welcome! Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be limited access to restrooms. Portable toilets will be available at the North Park Blocks, but after that, you're on your own! Please plan ahead.

Bring your own hot weather hydration, snacks, and supplies. We highly recommend bringing a small backpack with sunscreen, water, snacks, and even a sports drink like Gatorade to stay properly hydrated.

Taking care of your lactation needs is welcome anywhere along the route! If you need more privacy, unfortunately there will be no private lactation rooms nearby. Please plan ahead.
