Wine Tasting, February 26 @ 7PM

Join Matt Sgarlatta of M.S. Walker, Inc. as he hosts this Zoom tasting of three exceptional wines from Grape Expectations (listed below):

Broadside, Chard

Using a classic and natural method of creating wine, Broadside has a clean,  softened approach to California Chardonnay. Aromatics of poached pear and yellow apple allow touches of ginger and lemon zest to waft through. The palate stays balanced and harmonized with ripe orchard fruit, soft white flower and orange zest notes. The finish continues with an elegant vanilla been, smoky minerality, and mild touch of anise. 90 point rating from Wine Enthusiast.

Portlandia, Pinot Noir

Along the lines of the show, this Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is dry and approachable. Brisk black cherry scents and flavors come with a roasted, grilled quality. These charred notes carry into a substantial finis. This wine is graced with a 90 point rating by Paul Gregutt, Oregon lead for Wine Enthusiast.

Rioja Bordon, Gran Reserva Rioja

Plush and vibrant, this red delivers cherry, fig, tobacco, licorice and wood flavors on a broad frame, with well-integrated tannins and orange peel acidity for support. Juicy and generous. With 10,000 cases made, (only 6,500 cases imported) this is drinking great now and for the next 8-12 years.  92 points from Wine Enthusiast.
