The 2022 PEN/Faulkner Award Celebration will feature original readings by the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction finalists and winner; remarks by the Award judges, who considered over 500 eligible novels and short story collections published in the US in 2021; and the presentation of this year's PEN/Faulkner Literary Champion. The event will be held virtually.

Your support will advance our mission to celebrate literature and foster connections between readers and writers to enrich and inspire both individuals and communities. Proceeds will provide critical resources for our initiatives, including:

Education Programs. We inspire young readers and writers by providing free books and author visits to thousands of Title I public and public charter school students throughout DC. Our work has been especially important in this challenging time.

Literary Conversations. We host dozens of nationally known writers in engaging and provocative discourse about vital contemporary issues.

Literary Awards. With the annual PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, the largest artist-chosen prize of its kind, and the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in the Short Story, we recognize significant achievements by leading writers.
