Parlor Room, New York, NY 10011
The life of legendary New York Daily News columnist Jimmy Breslin is the topic of a new book by Richard Esposito, an award-winning journalist, former NYPD deputy commissioner, and now crisis communications specialist.
Jimmie Breslin: The Man Who Told the Truth took Esposito three years to write and includes some of Breslin's most illustrious stories -- the funeral of JFK, letters he received from Son of Sam, his run for NYC Council President in 1969. It captures Breslin's shoe leather approach to getting the facts firsthand and showing people what really happened.
Esposito, who was New York Daily News metro editor early in his career, includes interviews with the legend he worked beside. After his book talk, he'll answer all questions, including his opinion of the state of the city. A book will be raffled.
The event is free to attend, but RSVPs are appreciated.
To reach the Parlor Room, use the 12th Street entrance to the First Presbyterian Nursery School and go one flight up. Elevators are available.
