The inaugural Eahou Fest will serve as a vibrant celebration of the rich mo’olelo of Mōʻiliʻili. The battle site in the kaʻao of Hiʻiakaikapoliopele against the moʻo and water guardian Ka Mōʻo ʻiliʻili, Eahou Fest is a reminder of the importance of the preservation and return of wai. By letting music, tech, and art flow throughout the neighborhood, we hope to fortify kuleana to this wahi pana.
Eahou Fest aims to spark conversations around developing a circular, regenerative, and self-sufficient Hawai’i economy. Step into Purple Maiʻa’s vision of “The Malaplex,” a campus rooted in ʻŌiwi values of aloha ʻāina and ea, as we envision pathways towards a sustainable and sovereign future for all.
Eahou Fest will feature multiple venues across Mōʻiliʻili, diverse programming tracks—including tech, food security, health & wellness, housing solutions, alternative education models, ahupuaʻa economics—and dynamic community activations. With the collaboration of partners and curators, the festival will present panels, keynotes, workshops, training labs, pop-up mākekes, and other lāhui-centered events showcasing the impactful work occurring in the pursuit of ea, across pae ʻāina Hawaiʻi.
A catalyst for meaningful interactions, Eahou Fest dedicates itself to inspiring viable movement towards Hawaiʻi’s self-determination. We look forward to holding space for a gathering of ʻŌiwi, poʻe aloha ʻāina, practitioners and like-minded creatives.
