This summer, Reach the World will take Annual Benefit guests to Antarctica, simulating the experiences of tens of thousands of students who joined Reach the World's Endurance22 virtual exchange program. Annual Benefit guests will receive a series of emails leading up to the event, giving guests an opportunity to engage and learn about Endurance22 through three themes - Adventure, STEM and Social Studies.

The Annual Benefit is Reach the World's biggest event of the year. It brings together the Reach the World community to connect in person, celebrate an outstanding leader who is pushing the boundaries of storytelling and exploration, and raise funds for Reach the World's programs. The event includes a cocktail hour, dinner, award ceremony, fireside chat and silent auction in Central Park, New York City.

Donald Lamont is Chairman of the Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust. Mr. Lamont is a career diplomat who-in addition to postings in Europe, Asia and South America- served as Governor of the Falkland Islands and Commissioner for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands from 1999 to 2002. Mr. Lamont played an instrumental role in the 2019 discovery of the German battleship SMS Scharnhorst, and most recently, he coordinated all aspects of the successful Endurance22 Expedition. Dr. John Shears was Expedition Leader of the Endurance22 Expedition. Dr. Shears is a polar geographer and environmental scientist with more than 30 years of experience in both the Antarctic and Arctic with the British Antarctic Survey and the Scott Polar Research Institute at the University of Cambridge. In 2019, Dr. Shears received the Polar Medal from Her Majesty the Queen for outstanding achievement and service in the field of polar research. Nico Vincent was Sub-Sea Project Manager of the Endurance22 Expedition. Mr. Vincent is a renowned sub-sea engineer, surveyor and manager of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) and remotely-operated vehicle (ROV) teams. As Operations Manager for Deep Ocean Search, Mr. Vincent specializes in ultra-deep and unusual underwater projects, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in underwater exploration. Natalie Hewit was Documentary Director for the Endurance22 Expedition. Ms. Hewit is an award-winning film producer and director who is passionate about human stories and has a wealth of experience filming in extreme environments. Her previous work includes “Antarctica: Ice Station Rescue”, which tells the story of a mission to move Britain’s state-of-the-art Antarctic research base off a collapsing ice shelf.
