Sixth Annual “Bear the Burden” event hosted by Marion County Fire Rescue

What: The Big 3 lifts – bench press, deadlift, and squat. Combined scores for your PR. Best of three for your lifts. Individuals and teams can compete. Each team member must register individually. There is a discounted rate of $45 if you intend to compete both as an individual and as a team. 

Prizes will be awarded for Man and Woman strongest overall, Man and Woman lb. for lb., Team lb. for lb., and Station lb. for lb. 

For teams: Each member of the team will need to preform only one of the big three lifts to contribute to the team. All team members will not be doing all three movements. That info can be collected at check-in on the day of, and not necessary to know beforehand.

How to register: 

• If competing as just an individual, select the Individual Registration option. 
• If competing as part of a team, select Team Member Registration. You will receive a form in your confirmation email, where you can identify your team members. Each person competing must also fill out this form. 
• If you want to compete as both an individual and as part of a team, select the Individual AND Team Registration. One shirt is included in the registration, per person. Any additional shirts must be purchased by selecting Additional Shirt Purchase.

Who: Open to everyone 18+.

Where: EGH Fitness Center

Why: This event is to bring awareness to mental health and addiction issues by promoting physical fitness.

Every person who registers will receive a Bear the Burden shirt. Come out and just do your best. Celebrate the fire service, celebrate recovery, and support our brothers and sisters who have struggled.

All proceeds benefit Recovery RX Corp, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing health, fitness, and community to those struggling with addiction. Funds provide financial assistance to people in early recovery.
