The Freedom First Down by Downtown Music festival is a three-day music festival overflowing with energy that takes place across multiple venues throughout downtown Roanoke from April 16-18. Performances include a variety of genres and flip from intimate acoustic affairs to raucous late-night acts.
Tickets for the featured April 17 concert at Elmwood Park ($10 in advance) are on sale now. Find the full lineup and all venues at downbydowntown.com. There are NO "all access" passes available for 2021.
Abbey Road LIVE! headlines the Saturday concert and will deliver its signature performance: the entire Beatles' Abbey Road album, start-to-finish. Featuring classics such as "Come Together", "Here Comes the Sun," and the epic Side 2 medley. Abbey Road LIVE! is not your typical look-alike Beatle tribute act. Don't expect mop-top wigs and phony British accents. This band is about bringing some of the more complex Beatles music to life in a raw and spirited fashion, while remaining true to the original recordings.
