The Fulton Street Chamber Players, a varied ensemble of Seattle Symphony players and invited professional musicians returns for a fifth season at Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum. The Players will perform a Beethoven quartet each concert this season in celebration of his 250th.
This evening's program will consist of the Beethoven String Quartet Op. 18 #2 in G Major and the Schumann String Quartet Op. 41 #3 in A Major. Founders Walter Gray, cello, and Rachel Swerdlow, viola, will be joined by Jeannie Yablonsky, violin, and Caitlin Kelley, violin.
These intimate performances evoke the house-party atmosphere of chamber music as performed in the era before concert halls; where friends would gather, drinks were served, and new works would be heard. Audience members at Folio surround the players and sit close to the action. A complimentary wine reception follows, where these fine musicians mingle with audience members and new friends are made.
Complimentary wine reception to follow.
