Get ready, Central Alabama — Swag The Bag is back for its 7th year, and this will be our most dazzling, inspiring, and unforgettable event yet!

Held each November during Homeless Youth Awareness Month, Swag The Bag isn’t just a fundraiser — it’s a movement. Did you know that over 60% of older foster youth become homeless the moment they leave care? Within just two years, 1 in 4 will be without a safe place to live. We can change this. And you can be part of the solution.

This year’s event takes place at the stunning Shelby County Arts Center in Columbiana, AL on Friday, November 6, 2026. You’ll experience:

• The magic of Brian Reaves – Birmingham’s 5-time award-winning magician.
• Comedy from Alabama's own comedian and inspirational speaker, Jody Fuller.
• A delicious dinner from Tasteful Touch Catering.
• Our highly anticipated Silent Auction – bid online or in person on fabulous finds.
• The one-of-a-kind Trash Bag Art & Fashion Show, judged by a panel of celebrity judges.

Why Trash Bags?

For far too many foster youth, a trash bag has been their “suitcase.” It sends the devastating message that they — and their lives — are disposable. Swag The Bag flips the script, transforming that symbol into something fun, fabulous, and full of hope.

Every ticket, sponsorship or donation helps provide housing, resources, and a future for youth aging out of foster care. Heroes rise when communities unite so lets come together to laugh, cheer, bid, and be inspired — all while changing lives.
