Waltz into spring at the Seward Concert Band's "Song and Dance" concert on Friday, April 10th, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place at South High, at 3131 19th Ave S in Minneapolis. Suggested donations are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 students and children.
The program features a wide range of pieces and musical styles. Dancing at Stonehenge draws from Renaissance, Brazilian, and American music. Imagine the energetic dancing of the Hungarian folk music inspired Puszta. Sea Songs features the classic English sound of one of the early composers of 20th century wind band music. Audience members will not want to miss Danzon No. 2 with its sultry melodies and syncopated rhythms. Inspired by the famous jazz pianist, Thelonious Monk, the bluesy blips and offbeat ‘thunks’ of Melodious Thunk are a playful ode to the jazz pianist.
Please tell your friends and join us for an evening of live music inspired by song and dance.
