On Saturday, November 7, 14 Portland chefs and culinary teams will take over Midtown Beer Garden for an afternoon of incredible soup, friendly competition, and community impact.

Taste your way through all 14 soups and cast your vote for People’s Choice. A Chef’s Choice panel featuring Lisa Schroeder of Mother’s Bistro, Javier Canteras of Urdaneta, and chef and food industry professional Arielle Clark will select its own winner.

SOUP WITH A PURPOSE

This year, The Portland Soup Showdown is moving downtown to Midtown Beer Garden, Portland’s oldest food cart pod and a community that reflects the incredible diversity of Portland’s food scene. 88% of Midtown’s carts are first-generation immigrant-owned, and 14 languages are spoken across the community.

It’s a fitting home for an event that celebrates what food can do: bring people together, create opportunity, and strengthen community.

And every bowl supports that work. Every ticket benefits Stone Soup PDX and our mission to build economic stability for people experiencing barriers to employment while nourishing Portland through culinary training and community meals.

Proceeds support our paid culinary workforce training and employment services, as well as our Community Meals Program, which prepares more than 2,100 meals each week for Portland-area community partners.

Your ticket includes tastings from all participating culinary teams and the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice winner. Additional food and beverages from Midtown Beer Garden vendors will be available for purchase.

Please note: Midtown Beer Garden is an outdoor venue. The space will be enclosed with plastic weather shielding and equipped with heat lamps, but we recommend dressing for November weather.
