Class Description:

Are you interested in raising honeybees but unsure of where to start? Then this class is for you! Join Leonard and Dolly Rickerman, owners of Rocky Mountain Bee Supply, to cover the basics of beekeeping before deciding if this is the hobby for you. Beekeeping on the Front Range requires specific practices to help your hive(s) thrive in this climate. They’ll give an overview of the information and equipment necessary to begin beekeeping and bring examples of their equipment for participants to view. Participants will gain the knowledge necessary to make an informed decision about pursuing the wonderful hobby of keeping bees.

About the Instructors

Leonard and Dolly Rickerman have been keeping bees on the Front Range for well over a decade.  A family business, we have several commercial bee yards that we run for honey production, pollination services, nuc production, and queen rearing. Rocky Mountain Bee Supply is dedicated to the success of hobbyist beekeepers and the passion for beekeeping by teaching best beekeeping practices.  Our learning never stops.

All participants and chaperones must sign a liability waiver.  These are available on our website (SEE waiver - below upcoming class descriptions), and/or we'll have copies on-site when you arrive.
