In the spirit of T. Thomas Fortune and his belief in the promise of democracy and that all people of color matter, please join us in the Walk for Democracy. We must continue the work that was so hard fought in the past and is now being stripped away.
- Dismantling of the Voting Rights Act
- Targeting and detainment of immigrants without due process
- Attacks on 1st Amendment Rights and a free, fair and truthful Press
Please spread the word – encourage your family and friends to participate in this event. “We the People: Walk for Democracy” t-shirts will be available for those who donate $35 to the T. Thomas Fortune Foundation. Please be sure to note your size before confirming your donation amount.
The walk will kick off at 3 pm at Riverside Gardens and continue through Red Bank, ending at the T Thomas Fortune Cultural Center at 94 Drs. James Parker Blvd. Light refreshments, entertainment, and tours of Stewards of Democracy and our other exhibits will be available.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
Contributions are appreciated and support the educational and social justice programs of the T. Thomas Cultural Center.
