Dear Friends in Australasia,
Join us on Saturday, August 22, we will take you through a journey of our sustainable farm!
In an area where food and water are uncertain, sustainability and self-sufficiency have always been part our of core values. In 2008, The Baobab Home was given an unsolicited donation that enabled us to purchase 12 acres of beautiful, arable land just outside of Bagamoyo town. Today, the farm is 100% solar-powered and biogas fueled. We address water and food security with our well, organic gardens, fish ponds, cows, and chickens, creating a closed circle with the Black Solider Fly Larva waste bioconversion.
The farm is the centre of The Baobab Home and the living laboratory for our school Steven Tito Academy (STA) where the Baobab kids are growing up safely and the STA students are learning how to grow and prepare nutritious food, as well as how to build more sustainable agriculture and energy systems for the future.
Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with some of the Baobab kids and STA students, they will be there together with Teacher Rabaju, and are excited to share all about the sustainable projects that we are running and how everything is interconnected.
