Gather & Act, a virtual watch party event, will take place Tuesday, September 29, 6:30 to 7:30 pm (EDT) and celebrate The Laundromat Project’s 15th Anniversary while highlighting the collboarations and impacts our Create Change artists and likeminded nonprofit organizations and partners have been able to make on our communities over the years.
During the evening program, we will honor the work of community-based organizations Brooklyn Movement Center, Harriet's Apothecary, Kelly Street Garden, and North Star Fund's Let Us Breathe Fund by acknowledging them as Community Impact Honorees.
In addition, we will feature five new commissioned works by LP commissioned artists Abby Dobson, LaTasha Nevada Diggs, Karina Aguilera Skvirsky, Jaime Sunwoo, and Katherine Toukhy, created as part of the Park Avenue Armory and National Black Theatre's 100 Years | 100 Women program collaboration. Each piece celebrates the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage and the power that artists bring when amplifying civic engagement.
In recognition of their work, each Community Impact Honoree organization will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of tickets.
**You will receive a link to access the Virtual Watch party closer to the event date. In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to The LP's YouTube channel here to be notified when the program is ready to premiere on September 29!
