About The POETIC Foundation

The POETIC Foundation was established in 2011 to increase the access to quality cancer care for children whose first-line medications have failed them. We're able to support new and exciting treatment options, like research into the biology and genetic makeup of childhood cancer allowing treatment to be tailored to the needs of children.

About the musicians 

Hye-Won Cho, piano. Dr. Hye-Won Cho’s brilliant technique and sensitive musicality has garnered her countless accolades worldwide, including first prize at the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, the grand prize at the Peninsula Young Artist International Competition and the top prize at the ARTS Competition, sponsored by the National Foundation for Advancement in Arts in Miami Florida. 

Hana Kim, violin. Hana Kim is currently a member of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra. Previously having held a position in the Charleston Symphony, Hana also enjoys the eclectic works of a freelance musician in Los Angeles and Orange County, playing with various ensembles such as Pacific Symphony, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the LA Philharmonic.

Erin Breene, cello. Erin Breene is currently a member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Long Beach Opera Orchestra. She regularly performs with Pacific Symphony and the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra and has served as Principal Cellist of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Associate Principal Cellist with the Opera Pacific Orchestra, and Principal Cellist of Music Center Dance of Los Angeles.

Nathan Wang, composer. Nathan Wang is a pianist and composer for films, television, and theater. A prolific and versatile composer for Hollywood and Asian cinema, he has scored nearly 300 films and television shows, including projects for Steven Spielberg, Disney, Dreamworks, and Sony Pictures, and for Jackie Chan, Poly-Bona, Perfect World, China Film Group, EMP, Wanda, and Huayi Brothers in Asia. His compositions have been performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Shanghai Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, and Chicago Symphony. Mr. Wang is a recipient of 2 Emmy Awards, a 1993 Singapore Grammy, and is a 2014 Golden Horse Award nominee.
