The POETIC Foundation and Water World Swim are teaming up again to fight childhood cancer! Proceeds and donations from this event will help bring new hope to pediatric cancer patients and their families.

After such a successful event in November, we're expanding the field to 95 swimmers! This June, participants will start near Alcatraz Island and swim 1.25 miles across the San Fransisco Bay to Aquatic Park. The swim features some fun and challenging currents on your way to the opening of the cove and to the beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline. Swimmers are accompanied by coaches in the water, on kayaks, and SUPs.

Event Schedule: Saturday, June 1, 2024

• 7:45 am Meet at Aquatic Park for check-in
• 8:30 am Walk to the boat, board, and set off to the starting point! You will leave your belongings on shore so they are ready when you finish your swim. Only bring the minimum on the boat.
• 8:30am Board the boat and set sail to the start.
• 9:15 am Jump! This swim finishes at Aquatic Park. You will not board the boat again. Anything taken on board will be brought back to shore for you.

This swim is not timed and is not competitive.

About The POETIC Foundation

The POETIC Foundation was established in 2011 to increase the access to quality cancer care for children whose first-line medications have failed them. We're able to support new and exciting treatment options, like research into the biology and genetic makeup of childhood cancer allowing treatment to be tailored to the needs of children.
